DigitalGlobe's revenue up, profit stable
LONGMONT - DigitalGlobe Inc. (NYSE: DGI) reported higher revenue and an unchanged
profit for its 2009 fourth quarter ending Dec. 31.
The Longmont-based commercial satellite imagery company reported $72.9 million in revenue
for the fourth quarter, up 1 percent from the same period a year ago.
DigitalGlobe's quarterly income remained unchanged from a year ago, coming in at $13.8
million or 30 cents per diluted share.
For the full year 2009, the company reported record revenue of $281.9 million, an increase of 2.4
percent compared to 2008. But DigitalGlobe's net income slipped in 2009, coming in at $47.4
million or $1.06 per diluted share, compared to $53.8 million or $1.22 per diluted share in 2008.
For 2010, company officials predict a revenue range between $330 million and $360 million; and
diluted earnings per share between 25 cents and 55 cents.
WorldView-2, DigitalGlobe's latest high-resolution satellite, achieved full operational capability
on Jan. 4. WorldView-2 effectively doubles the collection capacity of DigitalGlobe's
constellation to more than 500 million square kilometers per year.
